DESCRIPTION
The Construction Manager is responsible for leadership of the construction team (GC, Sub-contractors, and Project Mngt Team members). To provide safe, efficient construction execution, schedule, and quality management. This role is responsible to drive productivity of the general contractor with the support of the CAPEX Manager. This individual will have the experience and knowledge to effectively plan work in phase 2 & 3 and execute work in phase 4 & 5.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Interfaces well with Contractors selected for their project
- Interface with other functions including engineering, maintenance, and operations
- Support implementation and assurance management of the Global projects EPCM model
- Provide assurance to contractors safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance
- Monitor contractor AWP compliance and assembly of CWA and IWP packages, act as owners AWP champion if necessary
- Lead constructability for the project
- Assists in planning and constructability in phases 2&3, follows the project to the field and ensure safe, efficient construction in phase 4, sees job thru to completion
- Demonstrates safety culture and values.
- Establish onsite processes to facilitate the expeditious resolution of unforeseen construction issues that support and empower subordinates
Basic Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent (B.S.) in construction management or engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience, if non-degreed, twenty (20) years of relevant experience
- Must have exhibited the ability or attributes to manage scope of work.
- Areas that competence that must exhibited are safety, planning, construction execution, quality, cost management, schedule adherence
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple and changing priorities
- Must have extensive understanding of AWP
- Must understand the Global Projects Construction Management work practices
- Must be able to read and interpret technical documents
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

- Ability to lead large safety meetings with craft
- Working knowledge of company QA procedures including ITPs, hold points and NCR resolution
- Ability to handle several work fronts simultaneously
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Technologically competent and be proficient in MS office
